And let me explain this. Later, I found out that Elizabeth Chambers and her husband, Armie Hammer (we have been hearing a lot about him after he was part of the Oscar nominated movie Call me by your Name), founded the bakery back in 2012 after months of perfecting family recipes.
Elizabeth, the entrepreneur and also part of the Human Rights Foundation, grew up in the kitchens of her mother and grandmother, who ran a local catering company for many years in San Antonio, so the couple decided to open this cute place in Alamo Heights.
Everything is baked on-site, from scratch, every day, using the finest ingredients —Plugra butter, Valrhona Cocoa, Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla, so every cake, cookie or muffin has a unique and homey flavor.
A few months ago, when Eduardo and I went to Dallas, I saw Elizabeth in a shopping center where we were having breakfast. To my surprise, the couple opened another Bird in Highland Park Village, Dallas, so now another part of Texas can enjoy the baked goods they make.
So if you ever come to San Antonio or Dallas, don’t forget to include a visit to this place with delicious food and a touch of Hollywood.
