My husband didn’t want to go to watch this film with me and because I don’t know much people who like suspense stories, I went by myself but now I need to talk about it with someone that’s why I decided to write this movie review: A quiet place will make you want to scream… and maybe cry.
And you read this correctly: it is the first time when I watch a suspense movie that I get so involved with the characters to the point (without saying too much) where I found myself with teary eyes, moment that didn’t last because the story (written and directed by John Krasinski) kept going and going.
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, who are a real life family with children, are a couple with 3 kids living in a ghost town, where even tiny noises can provoque that aliens out there go after them and kill them. Seriously, Krasinski manages the silence so well, that even I, as part of the audience, felt that my popcorn was too loud and had to stop eating.
At some point, A Quite Place reminded me of Signs (M. Night Shyamalan) and other monster movies, but this production deserves its own place in the genre. Please, go and see it if you like suspense and if you don’t like it give it a chance, because this is not gore, blood and cheap scary moments… it’s the kind of movie that people will talk about in the years to come (with parodies and everything else).
It got a shocking 95% in Rotten tomatoes and 8.2 from iMDb.

99. Mi esposo no quería ir a ver esta película conmigo y porque no conozco mucha gente a la que le gusten las historias de suspenso, fui sola, pero ahora necesito hablar con alguien, por eso decidí escribir de esta película: A Quiet Place hará que quieran gritar … y tal vez llorar.
Y lo leen correctamente: es la primera vez que veo una película de suspenso en la que me involucro tanto con los personajes (sin decir demasiado) al grado que en un momento ya estaba con los ojos llorosos, momento que no dura porque el historia (escrita y dirigida por John Krasinski) siguió y siguió.
Emily Blunt y John Krasinski, que son una familia de la vida real, son una pareja con 3 niños que viven en un pueblo fantasma, donde incluso los pequeños ruidos pueden provocar que los extraterrestres los persigan y los maten. En serio, Krasinski logra trabajar el silencio tan bien, que incluso yo, como parte de la audiencia, sentí que mis palomitas hacían demasiado ruido y tuve que dejar de comer.
En algún momento, A Quite Place me recordó a Signs (M. Night Shyamalan) y otras películas de monstruos, pero esta producción merece un lugar propio en el género. Por favor, si aún no han ido a verla y les gusta el suspenso vayan y si no les gusta denle una oportunidad, porque no es de esas cintas llenas de sangre y momentos de miedo chafos … es el tipo de película de la que la gente va a seguir hablando.
